Since the development of the Pharmaceutical Technicians Diploma by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland in 1985 qualified Pharmaceutical Technicians have become an essential part of the Pharmacy team. In addition, it is increasingly the case that Pharmaceutical Technicians are fulfilling roles traditionally undertaken by pharmacists and other new roles to pharmacy as a whole particularly those related to the supply function, in order that pharmacists might also move forward and develop new roles.

As the representative association for hospital pharmaceutical technicians we would like to create a list of courses pharmaceutical technicians have undertaken so that it can be make it available to their colleagues working around the country. If any pharmaceutical technician would like us to list courses they have undertaken please forward the information to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

We would also like to update our job profile, there are a number of pharmaceutical technicians working in areas that were unheard of when this course was started, so again please forward your profile to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . This information is valuable to our future development.

The Association supports Continuing Professional Development for Pharmaceutical Technicians.
